Cut It Up challenge #349 - This Makes Me Happy

Hello and happy Friday! I hope you are all staying warm if you live in a cold weather part of the world. We had unseasonably warm temps this week in San Diego. It was 86 degrees here yesterday. It felt like summer had arrived early. Today it was back in the 70s, and I am very happy about that. Much too early for summer!

Our Cut It Up challenge this week is This Makes Me Happy. Living in CA, one of the things that makes me happy is to spend a day at the beach. The ocean definitely soothes my soul and helps me to relax. I decided to make a beach scene card that I will send to my friend on the east coast who has been having extremely cold weather. I hope she feels the sunshine I'm trying to send her with my card.

 Stamps/Dies: My Favorite Things
Sun die: Spellbinders
Cloud stencil: Lawn Fawn
Wave stencil:  Newton's Nook
Markers for coloring: Spectrum Noir Tri-Blend

I hope you will join our challenge. Remember to use a die cut on your project. You can check out all the other amazing design team projects at Cut It Up.

Thanks for stopping by my blog. I hope you have a great weekend.

  2. Your card is like a little ray of sunshine in paper form! I love how you captured the beachy vibe so beautifully—it really does feel like a mini vacation. What a thoughtful way to send warmth (and happiness!) to your friend across the country. The ocean is such a soul-soother, and you’ve translated that perfectly into your project.

  4. This is so cute!! It might be rubbing it in a little to your friend--we have definitely been having some frigid weather on the east coast--but I'm sure they will love it! I mean, those little critters are just too cute! And you've created a great little scene using them!
