Die Cuttin' Divas Challenge - Make A Box

Hello and Happy Tuesday!  I hope all of you are doing well.  We had a bad fire in San Diego this week.  It was so scary and only a half hour from my house.  They have it almost contained now but so many people lost everything.  It's interesting that when folks are interviewed after losing everything they always say the same thing... everything can be replaced except the family photos.  Just another reason to store your photos on a website and not just at your home or on your computer.

On to this week's Die Cuttin' Divas Challenge, which is Make a Box.  I made this cute penguin belly box for my project.  I put some Hershey Kisses in the bag and gave it to my sister.  She loves penguins.

Paper: Bazzill and Stampin' Up
Ink:  Stampin' Up

Die Cuttin' Divas Challenge - Thinking of You

Hello everyone!  I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving.  I had a really nice day in spite of the fact that it was 97 degrees (we broke records for the heat) at my house and I was cooking all day.  I don't have air conditioning so it was quite hot in the kitchen.  Everything came out just fine but I sure was tired by the end of the day!

My sister and I did some local shopping on Friday -- no Black Friday mall shopping for us.  We just can't deal with the crowds.  I do a lot of online shopping instead.

Ok, on to this week's Die Cuttin' Divas challenge, which is "Thinking of You".  I made this little tissue/cough drops/soup holder.  A friend of mine showed me the video online and I just had to make one (you can find the video on www.dawnsstampingthoughts.net, then search her videos for "Get Better Quick Kit"). On the front there are tissues and Halls cough drops.  On the back is Lipton Cup a Soup. Isn't it so cute?!  And it was easy to make too.  Sadly, one of my co-workers came to work yesterday not feeling well so I think I'll be bringing this to her today.

Paper: Stampin' Up and scraps
Cup: Stampin' Up
Tag dies: My Creative Time
Stamp: Hero Arts
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black

Die Cuttin' Divas Challenge - Thanks or Turkey

Happy Tuesday everyone!  I hope you all had a good weekend.  I started a little Christmas shopping with my sister.  While we were shopping, I saw a couple of things that were perfect for some of my friends and family.  I decided that this year when I see something I know someone will love, I'm going to buy it then and there.  I usually wait and think about things then when I go back to get them the store doesn't have that item anymore.  This has happened too many times so I'm trying not to make the same mistake this year.

On to our Die Cuttin' Divas challenge this week, which is Thanks or Turkey.  I decided to do a card that showcased both!  I have to tell you, this is not one of my favorite cards.  I'm not sure why I don't like it but maybe it's just too dark.
 Paper: DCWV
Turkey: Celebrate with Flourish Cricut Cartridge
Give Thanks: Close to My Heart Artbooking Cricut Cartridge
Frame: Elegant Edges Cricut Cartridge
Sequins: Michaels
Wink of Stella was added to the words and yellow swirls
on the turkey but it's hard to see it in the photo

This week's Die Cuttin' Divas challenge is our monthly sketch challenge based on this sketch:

Die Cuttin' Divas Challenge - Pumpkin Season

Hello and Happy Halloween!  Our weather finally cooled down and now it feels like fall again.

I took a trip last Thursday to Baltimore to help my friend who recently had foot surgery.  She could not drive or do much so I decided to take a trip to see her and help her out with some cooking, cleaning and driving her to her doctor appts.  It was so great to see her and we always laugh a lot when we are together.  We have known each other since 4th grade -- and that is a very long time!  We had a blast and the cooler weather was a welcome relief for me.

Now on to this week's Die Cuttin' Divas challenge, which is Pumpkin Season.  I made this little treat holder for my husband for Halloween.  I filled the bag with little Cadbury chocolate harvest mix (yes, of course I sampled some while I was filling the bag!)

Paper: Close to My Heart
Circle and Label punches: Stampin' Up
Pumpkin Die: Stampin; Up
Baker's Twine: Doodle Bug Designs

Die Cuttin' Divas Challenge - Halloween Inspired

Hello everyone and happy Tuesday.  It's still super hot in San Diego and we are all tired of it!  Today at my house it is 105 degrees.  That is just horrible.  Luckily for me, I'm at work in air conditioning.

On to this week's Die Cuttin' Divas challenge, which is Halloween Inspired.  I love anything Halloween.  I made these treat cups for my co-workers.

Die Cuttin's Divas Challenge - Count Your Buttons

Hello and happy Tuesday to all of you.   Wow, I thought summer was over in San Diego but that certainly is not the case. On Sunday, it was 101 degrees again.  Too hot for Fall! We are supposed to have a couple more days like this then it will drop down to our regular Fall temps again. With all the fires happening in CA right now, we always worry when it gets this hot in October.

It's time for another Die Cuttin' Divas Challenge. This week the challenge is Count Your Buttons. I love buttons and I have since I was a kid.  My mom used to have this huge tin filled with all kinds of buttons and she would let us play with them. We would dump them out on the floor and go through all of them.  My sister and I used to pick out our favorites.  Such fun memories.

Here is the card I made.  I decided to make a shaker card and I used some tiny little orange buttons I have had for a long time and added some stars inside my shaker.

Paper: Recollections and Doodle Bug Designs
Glitter background paper: DCWV
Ghost Die: Queen and Co.
Boo Die: My Creative Time
Buttons: Lasting Impressions
Doily: Stampin' Up
Googly eyes: Joann's

Die Cuttin' Divas Challenge - RAK (Random Act of Kindness)

Hello everyone!  Welcome to this week's Die Cuttin' Divas challenge, which is to make a RAK (Random Act of Kindness) project.

We have an events dept. at work and those girls work so hard setting up for meetings.  They bring all the food and drinks to our conference rooms, set it all up and then come back to clean up and take it all away.  They are always very friendly and accommodating.  I decided to make them some treat boxes (filled with sweet goodies) and surprise them this week when they come to set up a meeting for me.  I think they tend to hear many complaints from folks but don't always get told what a great job they are doing.  I figured these would put a smile on their faces!

Die Cuttin' Divas Sketch Challenge

Happy Tuesday everyone!  I hope you all had a good weekend.  Mine was lots of fun.  I went to dinner at one of my co-workers homes (she had 8 of the girls from work over because her husband and son are traveling in Europe right now).  We had the best time. There was good food and great conversations.  It was so nice to get together outside of work.

On to our challenge this week, which is a sketch challenge based on this sketch:
Here is the card I made.  I have a friend who is a pumpkin spice fanatic so I'm going to send this card to her with a Starbucks gift card so she can get a pumpkin spice latte!  I personally don't care for them but when the peppermint mocha coffees come out closer to Christmas, I'll definitely get one of those!
Paper: Close to My Heart

Die Cuttin' Divas Challenge - Baseball Season Ends (baseball/favorite team colors)

Happy Tuesday to you all!  I had a busy weekend and it's hard to believe it is Tuesday already.  The air show was in town this weekend.  We have been to it many times and decided not to go this year.  We sat in our front yard around 2 p.m. on Saturday because we knew that was the time the Blue Angels would be flying.  They flew right over our house.  I never get tired of watching them, they are so amazing.

On to this week's Die Cuttin' Divas challenge which is Baseball Season Ends (baseball/favorite team colors).  My favorite baseball team is still the Yankees.  I made a baseball birthday card and used blue and white on the background because that is their colors.  The Yankees have not been to a World Series in a while so I'm still hopeful they will get in this year.

Die Cuttin' Divas Challenge - National Coffee Day (coffee or shades of brown)

Happy Tuesday to all of you and welcome to our weekly challenge at Die Cuttin' Divas.  This week our challenge is to make a project for National Coffee Day (coffee or shades of brown).

My husband has always loved bold coffee but I would drink a milder coffee.  One day he told me to try it so I did and I have been hooked on the dark french roast coffee ever since.  Now I can't drink regular coffee because it tastes too weak to me.  He ruined me for other coffee! :)

On to our challenge.  I needed another thank you card so this is what I decided to make for our challenge:
Coffee Cup: Close to my Heart Artistry Cricut cartridge
Paper: Stampin' Up
Sentiment: My Creative Time
Ink: Stampin' Up
Ribbon: Michaels
Bling: Queen & Co.

Die Cuttin' Divas Challenge - 3D, Shaker or Shaped Card

Hello crafty friends!  I had a four day weekend and it was fabulous.  Last Thursday my sister and I went to the beach for the day. The water was warm and it was great to be near the ocean and just relax and read my Kindle.  We had a great time.  Last Friday and Saturday I attended a crop and I had so much fun. I got lots of things done and just hung out with my awesome friends.  They always make me laugh and there is always chocolate!

On to this week's Die Cuttin' Divas Challenge, which is to make a 3D, Shaker or Shaped Card.  I always need birthday cards (don't we all??) so I decided to make a birthday shaker card.

Die Cuttin Divas Challenge - Back To School

Happy Tuesday everyone!  I'm excited because tomorrow is my birthday.  I don't usually get excited about my birthday but this year I started celebrating early with friends.  I just love spending time with my girlfriends, they are all awesome!  My husband and my sister are taking me out for a lovely dinner to our favorite Italian Restaurant so I have that to look forward to as well.  Nice that we can be spoiled on our special day right??

Ok, on to this week's Die Cuttin' Divas challenge, which is Back to School.  I can hardly believe that some kids have already gone back to school and many more will go back in the next couple of weeks.  Where did the summer go??

I decided to use my 3 Birds on Parade Cricut cartridge for my project this week:
Paper: Recollections and Colorbok "Hootenanny"

Die Cuttin' Divas Challenge - Bye Bye Summer

Happy Tuesday!  I hope you all had a great weekend.  I have been sick for over a week now so I just rested this past weekend and thankfully I am finally feeling better. I missed three days of work last week, which never happens.

This week our Die Cuttin' Divas challenge is Bye bye summer.  It's hard for me to think about summer ending because it has been so hot here lately.  Whenever I think about the end of summer, I always think about going home from the beach so I decided to make a beach card.
